Gurmat Theologian Training Program
We are excited to announce the launch of the Gurmat Theologian Training Program, a rigorous Sikh Theology Certification program designed for those deeply committed to mastering Sikh theology, philosophy, and history. This highly intensive program demands full dedication, with participants required to keep pace with challenging materials and assignments or face removal from the course.
Program Overview
The Parcharik Training equips students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the following areas:

Sikh Theology and Philosophy: Deep dive into the core principles of Gurmat.

Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji’s Works: In-depth study of all his books.

Gurbani Viyakaran & Arth: Mastery of Gurbani grammar and interpretation.

Gurbani Pingal: Understanding the poetic meters of Gurbani.

Akhand Paathi Fluency: Training to recite Gurbani with precision and devotion.

Sikh Ithyaas: Exploration of Sikh history through primary sources.

Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Vaaran: Analysis of these essential historical and theological texts.

Program Goals
Participants will emerge as skilled theologians, capable of:

Addressing misconceptions and myths about Sikh theology with clarity and confidence.

Becoming fluent Akhand Paathis, reciting Gurbani with expertise.

Understanding Sikh Ithyaas thoroughly, grounded in primary sources, and distinguishing factual truths from myths.

Extracting accurate meanings (Arths) from Gurbani using a reliable, objective system of interpretation.

Developing a robust understanding of Gurmat, supported by Gurbani, Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Vaaran, and other key Ithyaasic sources.
Commitment and Expectations
The program will run from September 2025 to September 2026. There will be two mandatory lectures per week (days and timings to be determined) as well as periodic seminars.
Just like any university course, the program will consist of weekly readings, writing assignments, and examinations. Expect to dedicate about 25 hours of your time towards the program each week.
This program will require serious commitment, intellectual rigor, and a passion for Sikh scholarship. Only those prepared to fully engage with the demanding curriculum and assignments should apply.
